What does it feel like to be Cyberbullied?

Being bullied online is not a pleasant experience. Here are some common feelings that are experienced.

  • It happens to both teenagers and adults, filling them with feelings of stress because they think they can’t handle the situation.
  • Another feeling that the victim of cyberbullying is that they feel powerless. They don’t feel safe online because cyberbullies invade their privacy.
  • Victims feel humiliated because they have had private pictures, messages non-consensually shared with other people.
  • Most of the time these bullies attack the weak person as a result of these victims starts harming themselves. For instance, if a girl is bullied because of looking fat, she will start working on the worst diet plans, and they will affect their health. They harm themselves to prove that the bullies are wrong in judging them and they want to stop further cyberbullying.
  • Repeated invasions of privacy and harassment may cause victims of cyberbullying to have thoughts of suicide.
  • Victims not only suffer mentally but also have an impact on their health physically as well.

It breaks my heart to know that these kids or youth are affecting themselves by cyberbullying. As we know that these youth are the future then we should focus on Cyberbullying Recovery.

Support for Victims of Cyberbullying

There should be proper Emotional Support for Cyberbullying. My hope for Online Abuse Help is to be a resource that teaches them how to handle various types of cyberbullying. Remember to never respond with anger as we know that these types of bullies are always attracted towards the individual who loses their temperament easily.

The victim has to deal with it properly. They should never blame themselves that it’s their fault. No matter whatever bully says to you don’t blame yourself. If they attack your looks, then be confident about yourself. You are beautiful and believe in yourself.
